What are CNC routers and machining centers?
A CNC machining center is a woodworking machine used for multiple processes such as drilling and milling. Generally, CNC machining centers offer flexibility and a high level of automation, with automatic tool changing or automatic loading and subsequent removal of parts.

Routers and CNC machining centers are used to drill and mill individual components of a panel cabinet or semi-finished wood products. However, they can also be configured for woddworking, for the production of Doors, Doors, Windows and Stairs. 

CNC milling machines for woodworking can have multiple heads with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis electrospindles and tool change magazines. One or more drilling units and a grooving unit with blade tool are often added. Edgebanding machining centers are another type of machining center that have gluing and edge trimming units for automatic shaping and edging of shaped components.

The main distinction in machining centers is between machines with pods and rails system that use vacuum to clamp the workpiece using suction cups and machines with a nesting table through which passes vacuum generated by pumps supplied with the machine. In the classic operation of nesting and bar machining centers, the table remains static holding the workpiece while the machine head (consisting of electrospindle and boring unit) performs the machining. Everything is typically controlled by a PC equipped with a specific software suitable for programming the machine .
